I ask you to consider all of the amazing Collinsville
improvements which were made possible (at least in part) by the
county Vision sales tax that was approved in 2003. City Hall rebuilt,
Police Station and Fire Station built, major park improvements,
Main Street streetscapes and S-Curve overhaul, American Legion building
re-roofed and remodeled, and several other projects. That county
tax is expiring and now individual cities are asking to renew their
portion (at the same rate). There are many more captial improvements
to be made as Collinsville continues to grow and prosper. Vote
Tuesday April 5th for Collinsville's future. -- Ted Wright

I'm not making
much progress on my week long backlog of photo pages and submitted
news ... but attended a unique ceremony this morning as 51 individuals
became new citizens in front of Collinsville 4th and 5th graders
at a Naturalization Ceremony conducted by Judge T. Lane Wilson at
Collinsville's Upper Elementary. Another distraction was gathering
sample photos of the many capital improvements made in Collinsville
as a result of the original Vision sales tax which is set to expire
at the end of this year. Collinsville will be asking voters to extend
that sales tax this April. -- Ted Wright 4pm Wednesday 3/9/2016

Just received news from Carol Henshall- Mitchell that
her father Ray "Blackie" Henshall passed away this
afternoon. Blackie was a long time resident and icon in the Collinsville
community. He served as our assistant girls basketball and softball
coach to Hall of Fame Coach Howard Ray for many years. A former
Collinsville Public Schools board member, Mr. Henshall was instrumental
is the hiring of Coach Ray in the mid 60`s. Coach Henshall fought
a courageous battle after suffering from a massive heart attack,
internal bleeding and pneumonia. His presence at athletic events
and supportive friendship will be missed by many Cardinals. RIP
Coach Henshall. -- Terry Due -- Friday 3/4/2016

Schools lost two great men within a 24 hour period. Craig
Creech and Louis Keith left this Earth and now reside in Heaven.
I had the pleasure to work closely with both of these gentlemen
for many years and know that their families are in need of
our prayers today. Words can`t express the influence these
guys had on me and the gratitude so many of us have for them.
Our loss is truly Heaven`s gain. Rest in peace my good friends.

Ted Cruz (R) and Bernie Sanders (D) won the presidential primary
in Oklahoma .. while Donald Trump (R) and Hillary Clinton (D) won
in most March 1st, 2016 Super Tuesday Primary states. |
Super Tuesday takes on new meaning in Collinsville
as the first home baseball and soccer games plus the track pie
auction typically fall on the same night with the election ...
so things are busy. Will take a few days to sort it all out. Baseball
boys trailed 0-2 (to Glenpool) when I left after 3 innings. JV
soccer boys lost 0-1. Varsity soccer girls won 4-1. Varsity boys
start shortly. I may not have time to check the polling results.
