Photo CD Orders: For those that requested photo CDs months ago ... I'm just now starting to catchup on the flood of news this week and can at least start to think about starting the photo archive search in the next few days. I can't take any new orders for individuals now but given the success of the boys baseball team will offer to make a special CD with all the baseball photos I've taken this year for $10 each if I can get a baseball parent or coach to handle all the order taking and money collecting. Park "Closed" -- TO ALL CITIZENS (From the City of Collinsville 5/13/2010):
We are all getting very anxious about playing on the new equipment in the park. It's not even complete yet and it looks great! And believe me; no one is more anxious than we at the city are! However, the park is not open to the public yet. The contractors are working diligently to make it play-ready, but they can't do their job effectively or efficiently with cars, people and skateboarders in the way. It is not safe for the public yet, it is a construction zone with many pieces of large equipment all over the place. Therefore, the park is closed from this date forward until such time as the construction is complete and is made safe for the public.
The only people allowed in the park will be softball teams who must stay on the east end at the softball field.
PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE PARK AND TRY TO PLAY ON ANY OF THE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, SKATE PARK, BASKETBALL COURT, EQUIPMENT, DIRT PILES, ETC. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WE DON'T WANT ANYONE GETTING HURT.
We ask that everyone please help us in this effort. The contractor is on a timeline and is only slowed down by unwarranted interruptions. The less interruptions, the quicker the work will get done and the quicker the park will be opened for all our enjoyment.

CHS Boys Tennis goes to State. 1 singles player Steven Chiartano, while competing on a sprained ankle, advances to the State Tennis tourney in OKC this weekend. This will be his third year at State representing the Cardinals.(Don 5-13-10).

We are having a walk-a-thon in honor of Connie Plumlee on May 14th at 12:00, noon. We are starting a parade in front of the middle school and walking in the park. The money raised will go to the Burn Camp in honor of Connie. -- Kelly Hamlin (5/13/2010)

The Collinsville Baseball Cardinals beat Duncan 7-4 to advance in the State Tournament (at Union) to the 4pm game -vs- Bishop Kelly Thursday. They need to win that game to avoid missing the 7pm graduation as the losers game starts at 6:30 Thursday. Randy Rogers pitched the complete game victory against Duncan and went into the 7th with a 7-1 lead before Duncan scored 3 and had the bases loaded before the final out. Cardinal Pledge -- CHS Seniors that have participated in CHS sports received their senior plaques today at the awards assembly and pledged their continued support of Cardinal sports. College Baseball Note from Ron Evans: Ted--I went to Seminole Friday to watch Seminole State baseball play Rose State. Kevin Phillips (CHS 2008) plays for Seminole State and his dad and mother (Rick and Karen) were there as well. Kevin went 3-5 with two home runs and 5 runs batted in. Strangely enough the pitcher from Rose State was Harrison Mendez who pitched for C'ville in 2008. Also, Jeremy Guest (CHS 2007) plays and pitches for Rose State and his dad was there as well. Good outing for the C'ville fans!!!! Oh, Seminole won the game 13-10. (Saturday May 8, 2010)
