Ted, I just wanted to thank everyone that has helped Jarrod (Shearer) in replacing his lost items. We are no where near finished, but I just am overwhelmed by the people that have come forth to assist this young man in his time of need. People have come up with lot of shirts, shoes, some school supplies, a used laptop and some jackets. We are still looking for him a cheap car to get back and forth to school and work, some pants and a coat. NSU was very helpful with the books and assignments that he lost. We as a family are just very thankful that we still have Jarrod with us because according to the OHP and the wrecker service there is no earthly reason for Jarrod to still be here. So on this Thanksgiving I know what I am going to tell everyone that I am VERY Thankful that my son is still with me today. It warms my heart to know that the people of the community that are always telling me what a wonderful young man he is and how much they love him are willing to step up and help him in his time of need.
--Thank you so much to all of you, Carolyn Jensen (11/26/2008) .. [see 11/17 note below]

Ted, My son Jarrod Shearer is in need of help. He is a freshman at NSU and comes home on the weekends to do laundry and see his family. Well on his way back to school yesterday (not 30 minutes from campus) his car caught fire and burnt to the ground. Everything that he owns was in that car, all of his clothes, his school books, assignments for the week, lap top that he used for school and of course his only transportation. I have no idea where to start to get him back on track. After seeing the car myself, we are lucky that he is still with us. So if you have any suggestions could you please let me know? You can contact me @ 798-3037 with any ideas. --Thank you, Carolyn Jensen (11/17/2008)
