Cars
line the street in front of the Collinsville Community Church as a steady stream
of voters cast their votes at one of Collinsville polling places, Tuesday Sept
9th.
60-62%
of the Tulsa County vote approved all four proposals
while 38-40% disagreed.
A
small but very pleased group of citizens and Collinsville City officials watched
the Vision 2025 vote results on a TV at the City Annex Sept. 9th.
As
the election results were finalized, the main question asked of city officials
was: "When will we get the money for Collinsville projects?". City
Manager Mike Tinker said that many of the county's communities will be represented
later this week at an INCOG meeting and that would likley be a much discussed
topic. Speculation is that acutal funds would not begin flowing until the first
quarter of 2004. Tinker indicated there might be alternatives for earlier funding
of the City Hall project if assurance is given by Tulsa Co. officials that the
Vision 2025 funds would be provided to replenish those funds later. -- Ted Wright
