Collinsville's own Ryan Frame was selected by the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association as the Region 7 Assistant Coach of the Year. This is the 3rd year in a row that a Collinsville baseball coach has been honored by the OBCA. Two years ago Damon Herald was selected Asst Coach of the year. Last year Tony Reeder was named Oklahoma Coach of the Year and inducted into the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. Coach Frame has been with the Cardinals for two years. -- Jim Riley 1/30/2012

Cardinal Wrestlers place 3rd at the Midwest National Duals at OCU. The defending 5A state champions defeated Perry twice and took Texas 5A state champions Allen, Texas to the last match before falling 28-26 to finish 3rd this weekend. Tulsa Union defeated Allen 31-30 in the Championship match while Collinsville beat Perry 35-25 in the Consolation match. Katie Hoffman's Tom Cruise Interview -- (Previous Coverage)

Robert Sallee had a heart attack Tuesday Jan. 3rd, 2012. In critical condition, he was life flighted to Okla Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. After no improvement in his condition, all life support was removed last evening. He passed at 6:08 p.m. He had been a diabetic which was certainly a contributing factor to his death. He will be cremated in McAlester with a memorial service at a later date. -- Susan Worstell (Sat. 1/7/2012) -- (Ted note: Robert was a 1968 CHS grad and Susan's brother) -- Robert's funeral Service will be Saturday, Jan 14, 10 a.m., at All Saints Episcopal Church, 325 E Washington, McAlester, OK.

The Wrestling Cardinals won the Cushing Tournament this past weekend. Placing 7 in the Championship finals the Cards put the team race away after the morning round. The medal round was not too kind to the Cardinals. Only 3 wins in 10 matches. Davion Jeffries and Dylan Helm won in the finals and Keenan Priddy won his 3rd place match. The Collinsville Varsity Wrestling team welcomed in 2012 by beating Sperry 72-0 and Coweta 52-12 at Coweta on Tues. The JH Wrestling Team beat Sperry 40-36 and tied Coweta 33-33. -- Jim Riley 1/3/2012
