Several Cherokee Language Bowl Teams placed in competition during November and December of 2011.

Wilson Elementary had two teams, Collinsville Redbirds Team #1 sponsored by Lenora McMullen, placed 2nd. The team members were back row left to right Dalton Wagner, Cheyenne Kiddy, Elizabeth Thomas, front row Savannah Hutchens and Tabatha Kiddy.
Mary Burr sponsored Collinsville Redbird Team #2 and they placed 1st. Team members were back row left to right Mary Burr, Kaden Rush, Ainsley Burr, Cayden Fisher, front row l-r Hannah Phillips and Taylor Rhoten.
Herald Elementary entered three teams, Nancy Thomas sponsored Collinsville Bluejays and team members were Adam Carney, Gentry Weiser, Tara Nunn, Gage Tacker and Dustin Leach they did not place but tried very hard.
Tonya Vaughn sponsored Collinsville Wolves and team members were Bailey Vought, Emma Sampley, Yonah Tripp, Emily Downing and Lane Hutchens they did not place but tried very hard.
Kathy Sampley sponsored Collinsville Eagles and team members were Hayley Leach, Esperanza Torres, Allie Swarer, front row l-r Macie Golden and Tyler Griffin and this team placed third.
Aline Phillips sponsored the middle school team Collinsville Warbirds and team members were Faith Sampley, Ryan Lecrone, Matthew Downing, Cathaline Johnson and Allie Dale. This team placed third.
Congratulations to all the teams for participating and trying their best.
Teams will be honored at a banquet to be held in the spring.
