Ronnie Neal (left, of the Cherokee Nation) presented a continuation of Mark Fenton's message of community design choices that could improve our health.
A diverse group of citizens (including CHS SWAT students) and officials attended this the 3rd of a series of workshops. I won't attempt to summarize as the message was similar to previous meeting but can report progress on "Safe Routes To School" grant which might be approved soon. Also a call for citizens to actively join in a "Healthy" coalition to help the city determine choices on the path to a healthier community. If you are interested, I'd suggest contacting city Manager Pam Polk or Ronnie Neal of the Cherokee Nation health organization. -- Ted Wright 12/14/2011
