FYI -- I just renewed the hosting for cvilleok.com for 3 more
years. I plan to let it drop offline after that time (2024) to eliminate
that expense in the future. I am making very few updates now (about
10 months into retirement). I have hundreds of other projects I
am working on now. -- Ted Wright -- May 1, 2021

So, I will still have my copy of 18+ years of Collinsville happnings
& history (22GB), but YOU won't be able to see it for free like
now. I have other priorities now. A long term "solution"
is for several Collinsville volunteers to step up and re-form the
Collinsville Historical Society. It's not my job any more. |
Richard
Lee Lucky Bradshaw (February 25, 1936 - April 15, 2021)
-- CHS 1955
"Known to all as Lucky rather than Richard, this name was
earned one eventful night at the unbelievable age of 9 hours old.
A tornado swept through his home carrying him away from his family.
Searchers riding on horseback and carrying lanterns eventually
found Lucky shielded underneath a glass window, completely unharmed,
but his gown frozen stiff. His parents were taken to separate
hospitals until they could be identified and reunited. Once together,
his mother quickly and officially added Lucky to his birth name."

I already have one foot out the door and the other will follow
in about a week (July 1st, 2020) as my retirement from the school
begins. I will then no longer post as @OKCardinalChirp (Twitter
& Instagram after almost 4 years) having turned the keys over
to Paige Bargas. My cvilleok.com web site will go mostly dormant
(after 17+ years) as I will only post if/when I want to, in retirement.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) was declared a worldwide pandemic

frantic pace. I will make no attempt to document those here, but
wanted to mark in the timeline of local event. Collinsville school
administration is closely monitoring the situation and recommends
checking the CDC for updates. Today, Friday March 13, is the final
day of school before a week out for spring
break (March 16-20). Obviously all city, school & sports
events are subject to change. Stay tuned. -- Ted -- 3/13/2020
