William Lincoln (W.L.) Wright moved his newspaper & family to Collinsville, I.T. from Ellsworth, Kansas, in 1899. The Wright family owned and operated the News for 88 years. Mr. Bill Retherford has owned the News since 1987. The News will begin its 106th year (Vol. 106) and is Collinsville's oldest business and Tulsa County's oldest newspaper (the "Tulsa World" is on Vol. 99 for example).
The following article from the 11th birthday of the News (in 1910) contains W.L. Wright's (or his son F.A's?) recollections of the early years in Collinsville. -- Ted Wright (W.L.'s great-grandson).

Although I am proud of my past heritage with the newspaper, I am not associated with the current newspaper. If you want your news or ad on my website please contact me. If you wants your news or ad on both media please contact both, as there is not an exchange between these two separate businesses.
