Collinsville's 2006
started under a burn ban with numerous grass fires. City offices moved
back into a restored City Hall in January for the first time since the
December 2001 fire. The year brought many new roofs following a major
hail storm in April. The city pool failed to open in May 2006 for the
first time since it was completed in 1958. The rail road crossings on
Main and Walnut were improved. Contruction began on a new ECC school
building and a track. Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry helped re-dedicate
the City Hall building in August. The Veterans building reached a 60
year milestone and the State of Oklahoma passed it's 99th year. With
the year winding down, construction activity on the Broadway Bridge
is ramping up. Many more community events were documented in photos
on the pages of www.cvilleok.com. You can also click the calandar month logos above for the archived news index for that month.
