Woodrow
Wilson Guthrie was born on July 14, 1912, in Okemah, Oklahoma. Woody
Guthrie died in 1967 (nearly 40 years ago) but his musical legacy continues.
K.C. Mathey has done serious study of the life and music of Woody Guthrie
and is a friend of the surviving Guthrie family. He brought the character
back to life today in Collinsville for Mrs. Lykins' CHS Oklahoma Literature
class. He will also be a part of the Tulsa Chautauqua this summer. --
