Cardinal Defense Took Charge On Catoosa's First Possession
Following Collinsville's opening kickoff, Catoosa started at their own 20 yard line. They appeared to gain 4 yards on their first play but a personal foul penalty backed them up to their 12 yard line. The Cardinal defense then pushed them back further on three successive plays (2 photos above and left) to the 7, 5 and the 3 setting up the punt below.

Catoosa's first punt from their endzone was partially blocked (looks like Kyle Rush #32 to me) and ended up at the Catoosa 15 yard line. Collinsville took just two plays to score from there with a TD pass caught by Kevin Phillips (below) and thrown by Cardinal QB Tyler Chronister at 9:07 in the first quarter. Chronister's PAT kick was good and Collinsville jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead
Kevin Phillips WIth Collinsville's First Touchdown
Collinsville's defense stayed tough with Jared Billips (#4) wrapping up the legs of this Catoosa ball carrier while already on the ground in the 1st quarter.
Kevin Phillips (#11) moved the ball down to Catoosa's 27 yard line on this reverse at 7:29 in the 2nd quarter. Collinsville had punted from their own 29 a few plays before but Catoosa fumbled the punt back to the Cards setting up a scoring opportunity. Collinsville drove to the 15 before a fumble stopped this drive.
Kyle Lee Smith (#2) made a saving open field tackle on Catoosa's #17 late in the 2nd quarter stopping him at the Card's 40 yard line. On the next play Aaron Watts recovered a fumble setting up Collinsville for their final possession in the first half at 3:57.
Mike Henry hurries to lower the Cardinal's new end zone camera before the Collinsville field goal attempt with just 3 seconds remaining before halftime. The line of scrimmage was the 17 and the kick just made it inside the upright for a 10-3 halftime advantage.
