As the city neared the end of 2004 it had hired Jim Whitlock as City Manager. A few months into the job Mr. Whitlock died from a heart attack. |

| The middle school location was cleared of older buildings and the footings poured by the end of 2004 and students were in the new building by mid-August 2005. | |||

| The Collinsville Community Church was heavily damaged by fire in June 2004 and construction of the replacement building continues as 2005 ends. The initial service in the new building is expected in Feb. 2006. | ||

The Christian Church was destroyed by fire in May 2004. They were back in their new church building by June 2005. |
