Tahlequah took the opening kickoff but a few plays into that first possession Collinsville had two point on the board as Levi Draper (#10) rushed the quarterback's pitch and the ball (far left of this photo) went behind the running back (below).
By the time the Tahlequah back reached the football it was in the end zone and Collinsville kept him there for the safety at 11:13 in the first quarter.

Malcom Tillman (#24) was the primary Cardinal ball carrier in the Collinsville win over Tahlequah Friday. He got blocks from Jackson Wilson (#61) and Bradley Smith (#73) on this first quarter run.
Karson Cole (#60) hiking the ball to QB Seth Boomer with Jackson Wilson (#61) and Eli Emmitt (#54) to his right.
Hayden West (#33) got good yardage on this first quarter sweep.
A Seth Boomer quick kick on 4th down was kept out of the end zone by Hayden West (#33) but the official apparently rulled West sliced it a little too close and awarded Tahlequah the ball at the 20 yard line. During pre-game (after Tahlequah's homecoming) the game ball was delivered by helicopter for the second straight Cardinal game. The landing outside the stadium was less entertaining than last week on Sallee Field.
Brett Erickson (#11) hauled in a 34 yard Seth Boomer touchdown pass at 4:45 mark of the first quarter. After Seth Weiser's extra point conversion Collinsville led 9-0.
Malcom Tillman (#24) with a late first quarter gain to the 37 in front of "The Trap" student section and cheerleaders..
Hayden West (#33) took a short Seth Boomer TD pass on 4th & goal on the first play of the second quarter (11:56). Seth Wiser kicked the extra point for a 16-0 score.
The Crimson Cadet Band entertained from the stands and also marched at half time. Interference calls set up Tahlequah's first score on a 6 yard run at 8:34 2nd quarter (16-7)
Seth Boomer (#12) takes a 2nd quarter shotgun snap from Karson Cole (#60).
Dylan Russell (#3) with a 2nd quarter rush.
Seth Boomer (#12) launched a 15 yard touchdown pass to Walker Roberts (below).
Walker Roberts (#23) caught Boomer's TD pass with 8:08 left in the 3rd quarter. Weiser's kick put Collinsville up 23-7.
Dylan Russell (#3) stopped this Tahlequah play.
The offensine line taking a breather while the defense has the field. (L-R): Nathan Schaffner (#58), Eli Emmitt (#54), Bradley Smith (#73), Jackson Wilson (#61), and Karson Cole (#60).
Defensive line charge (L-R): Jake Harrison (#51), Joey Krupinski (#70), and Spencer Oslin (#65)
Tahlequah had already scored on a 76 yard drive early in the 4th quarter (23-13) and nearly scored again on what would have been a 71 yard drive but Collinsville recoved a fumble at the one yard line instead with 5:31 left in the game. Collinsville got no further than the six yard line and Walker Roberts punted out to the Collinsville 47 and Tahlequah scored four plays later to make the score 23-20 with 3:21 left in the game.
Late in the Tahlequah game Levi Draper cleanly fielded an onside kick (above) and went immediately to the ground ending the play and any possibility of a fumble ... before what looked like a cheap shot by a Tahlequah player (below). Offsetting penalties left the ball at the 50 yard line and Collinsville ran out the remaining 3:21 for a close 23-20 win after starting the 4th quarter with a 23-7 lead.
