| The West Main Event Center was neartly full of invited Collinsville merchants, officials, and guests Thursday evening for a first ever "Main Street Appreciation Gala". The Collinsville Downtown Inc. event provided a catered meal and information on local and statewide community revitilization efforts. | ||||

| Linda Barnett, the state director of the Department of Commerce's Main Street organization, provided information and examples of Main Street programs statewide including Collinsville (and nationally). Collinsville's Main Street program manager, Mary Risley, also spoke as did CDI President Tim Desmond and advisory board Member Beth Ann Langston. | ||||
| The Collinsville
Main Street program (Collinsville Downtown, Inc.) began in 2000 and is
partially funded by the City of Collinsville, member fees/donations, and
fund raisers. CDI Mission: To be instrumental in directing the restoration of historic Collinsville to its original nostalgic appearance, business fevor, public attraction, and profitibility to fit the needs of our contemporary community. |
