CHS Canopy Progress
Significant progress on the new canopy connecting the main CHS building with the "freshman" wing was made during spring break last week. The brick facade has started on the north end of the west remote building which is growing by 7 classrooms. Apparently the workers will complete the CHS canopy before starting the Wilson Elementary canopy.
Downtown Inc. Office Progress
As soon as the building could be cleared last Saturday (after the chili cookoff) work resumed on the future office of Collinsville Downtown Inc. The building is the former city annex building across from City Hall. Brad Francis is grinding the old floor surface above and with an assist from Trent Rogers and Preston Haley below. The majority of the labor had been done by volunteers. There is also some discussion of Chamber of Commerce possibly sharing the office in the future also. A donation by the Roderick family and woodwork by Tharyn Nachtigall are also significant.
Who-Done-It?
One of the three paper recycling bins behind the Collinsville Library was damaged by a fire that was discovered about 7:30am Tuesday March 17, 2009. If you have any information please contact the Library.
