Collinsville Main Street announces Steinholtz Building façade rehabilitation complete -
Showcase Saturday, March 6th

First completed project is up for State Main Street award

Collinsville, OK March 2, 2004:
Saturday March 6, 2004, Collinsville Downtown, Inc. will showcase the Steinholtz Building at 1104/1106 West Main. As the first completed façade restoration on Main Street for this community, it was recently submitted for an Oklahoma Main Street award. While the top three awards in each category will not be disclosed until March 3, officials feel that we have already won.

This building was sold during the restoration process. It now houses two new niche businesses to Collinsville's downtown, Cooper's Custom Framing and Thomas Trains.

The onset of this project started "with the owner's genuine commitment to see an historic building on Main Street look as good as it did when it was young" said Brad Francis, President of Collinsville Downtown, Inc. Partnering with the local Main Street program (Collinsville Downtown, Inc.) a grant was applied for, based on energy saving changes/adaptations. A State Energy Program Grant was awarded and matched dollar for dollar the investment by that property owner.
"It has been a wonderful experience to work with our community in this effort and know that it is only the beginning of a beautifully restored Main Street business district", according to Deborah Berry, Executive Director of Collinsville Downtown, Inc. Ms. Berry thanked all participants and onlookers and says all are cordially invited to visit during this showcase. "Come in and see the dramatic differences that have made this turn-of the century building new and viable", she added. "Join us in celebrating this occasion. Light refreshments will be provided and it will be open during regular business hours".

Other building owners are looking at the opportunities and benefits of restoration. Collinsville Downtown, Inc. is looking forward to working with all that choose to restore and will work hard to pursue avenues of opportunity for our community. They look forward to their next project.
