Home Representative Club News
Jeanie Barnes and Marsha Nachtigall co-hosted the Nov. 5, 2013 meeting of the Collinsville Home Representative Club, at the Discovery Church. The club was proud to announce that the winners of the 2014 HOBY award are Brett Oliver and Ellen Pfeffer. The two Sophomores will be attending the annual seminar in late Spring of next year.

After the business meeting, members raised funds for Newborns In Need by participating in a White Elephant Sale - all proceeds will assist in the purchase of items for area newborns.

Cardinal Cover Girls
I am normally unenthused to see yet another un-wanted phone book show up at my door (several times a year). But I do look forward to the arrival of the yearly "Home Town Directory" as they normally feaure one of my photos on the cover. This year (2013-2014) they selected last year's 8th graders (CHS 2017) that had swept their 7th & 8th grade conference championships. And by the way, the copies that go to Owasso & Oologah likely have a photo from their community on their cover.

Winter Guard Try-Outs
I noticed a nice sized group waiting for Winter Guard try-outs to begin last week at the Middle School Gym. -- Ted
Middle School Recyclers
Students from the Middle School routinely take their paper to the recycling bins behind the Library ... to help save a few trees.
Spectatular Fall Colors
I never really got out to search for the one "great" photo to truly represent the wonderful fall colors we had this fall with much better moisture and temperatures than the previous few years. I did see several single spectatular trees (red and yellow) but never the over-all composition to capture it all together. Now that we have had a really solid freeze (last night Nov. 12/13) the show is likely pretty well winding down. Will have to settle for this Nov. 3rd photo as my meager attempt for this year. -- Ted Wright
