Update
From Emily Wright In Australia |
After numerous earthquakes in the Pacific this week (Samoa & Indonesia), I had asked my daughter Emily (in Townsville, Australia) how high her house & school were above sea level. She had already called to tell me the dust storm (that had been on national news near Sydney) had come all the way up to her a few days later. -- Ted 9/30/2009 |
It's
wild all the disasters that have occurred in the last day or so. Fortunately,
we won't get any tsunami action due to protection from the reef (the wave loses
power there if it makes it that far). That's the same reason Florida (and North
Queensland for that matter!) doesn't have any good surfing waves compared to "reef-less"
California. The dust finally cleared up last night - I woke so a blue sky! Now I just have to clean all the dust off everything in the house! -- Emily 10/1/2009 |
Animal
Blessing Sunday |
Meadowcreek United Methodist Church will be having an Animal Blessing Sunday, October 4th at 4:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the Meadowcreek Rock Solid Youth Group and they welcome the community to attend.-- Diane Williams (10/1/2009) |
All-Sport
Phone Book Cover |
I was fortunate (again) to have one of my photos selected for the cover of the new Hometown Directories phone book. I want to thank the CHS coaches and selected students for taking the time to gather and represent each of the CHS sports teams for this photo. I got my new book downtown Wednesday but not at the house yet, in case you haven't received your's yet. -- Ted Wright (10/1/2009) |
