Collinsville Lady Cards Are State Champs
Hillary Brown scored the only run of the finals game on this play in the third inning Saturday. Taylor Whisenhunt at the plate hit a high pop up with 2 outs and Hillary crossed the plate as the Newcastle fielder miss played the ball.
Each team member received a medal presented by Pat Herald, Cory Slagle and Bill Rule in Oklahoma City Saturday Oct. 8th. The team trophy will be displayed in the Collinsville High School trophy case.
These 8 teams made it through their regionals and met in Oklahoma City to decide who would be the State Champion in 4A Fast-Pitch Softball. Collinsville made it through the bracket with three 1 run shutouts for the title.
Not Much Margin For Error At The Top

State 2nd Round: 1-0 Over Tuttle (9 innings)
State 1st Round: 1-0 Over Oologah (8 innings)
Regional Final: 1-0 Over Claremore Sequoyah (9 innings)
Regional 2nd Round: 9-3 Over Bristow (7 innings)
Regional 1st Round: 11-1 Over Glenpool (5 innings)

The final 6 Kelli Dunagan CHS pitching victories with lots of defensive help from her teammates and just enough offense to stay alive in the last 4 games.

Info from Friday Oct. 7 Game With Tuttle:
Taylor Whisenhunt scored the only run against Tuttle Friday in the 9th after her 2-out single and a miss play on Jordan Perkins drive. I also heard Hillary Brown made a key play throwing out a Tuttle player at the plate from her knees. -- Ted (I have no photos)
Collinsville had excellent fans in the stands to cheer the Lady Cards onto victory in Oklahoma City at the ASA Hall of Fame Statium.
