Josh Pennington (#81) and Joe Keith (#28) broke up this Jay pass attempt early in the 3rd quarter after Jay had already gone up 6-0 on their 1st possession of the 2nd half (at 9:57 3Q).
James Norris (#34) looked more like a pass receiver than the punter as this scene was repeated twice in the 3rd quarter as he had to leap high for the snap near his own goal just to get the punt off. Collinsville remained trapped in their own end of the field the entire 3rd quarter.
Despite the poor field position in the 3rd quarter the Cardinal defense gave up only 6 points. They made 4 stops inside the 5 yard line (including one above). Merin Oakley knocked down the 4th down attempt (on the next play) to stop Jay and give Collinsville the ball inside the 2 yard line near the end of the 3rd quarter.
Dylan Weabe (#11) handed of to Merin Oakley (#30) on 3 successive plays to move Collinsville out beyond the 10 yard line but short of a 1st down as the 3rd quarter ended.
As the officials maked the spot to move the chains to start the 4th quarter Collinsvlle faced 4th and inches.
Collinsville gambled big on 4th down and and came up short with the snap fumbled and Jay taking over near the 10 yard line on the first play of the 4th quarter. Jay scored 3 plays later at 10:34 and passed for the 2 point conversion and a 0-14 lead.
Jay added a field goal at 7:04 in the 4th quarter for the final 0-17 score.
