Cardinal softball team stamped their ticket to the class 5A State
Tournament by beating Durant 3-1 in the regional finals. Congrats
to Coach Henry, Coach Rogers and the girls on a great season. --

| Lady
Cardinals are 5A Regional Champs and headed to STATE!!!! The girls
beat Durant 3-1. The girls went undefeated in the playoffs scoring
a total of 31 runs and only allowing 4 runs scored against them.
Keep it up Lady Cardinals one game at a time. Cardinal Pride --

Softball
Regional Game 2: The
Cardinals took a 1-0 lead onto the top of the 7th inning against
Grove in the winners bracket finals. All they had to do is get
three outs to be in the driver seat of the regional tournament.
The lead off batter for Grove walked. The next two batters stuck
out. With a runner on first two outs and a full count Grove's
picher hit the next pitch over the left field wall for a two-run
homer giving Grove a 2 to 1 lead. The next Grove better struck
out. In the bottom of the 7th the Cardiac Cards loaded the bases
and with no outs Cardinal center fielder Marissa Huggins smashed
a line drive to the right center field wall and scored 2 runs
for the Cardinal victory. The win puts Collinsville in the driver
seat in the regional tournament. They will have now have to lose
2 games in a row to be eliminated. -- Jim Riley 10/9/2013 -- 6pm

I'm reading the brackets correctly, Collinsville will play
2pm Thursday -vs- the winner of the (2nd) Grove -vs- Durant
game with both of them having 1 loss already. -- Ted 6:15

Regional Report: The Cardinal Softball team beat Bishop Kelley
25-1 in the first round of the Regional Softball tournament in
Durant. Rachel Griffin hit a 3 run home run and a grand slam home
run. The Cards will play Grove at 4:00 today in the winners bracket

plays BK at noon Wed. and must eliminate Bishop Kelley, Grove &
Durant to advance.
Durant was 20-12 (2nd in Dist. 5A-4 behind Carl Albert 28-1))
Bishop Kelley 5-12 (6th in 5A-4 behind Carl Albert & Durant ...)
Grove was 8-26 (next to last in 5A-3 above)
