More Main Street Improvements
Snook Bayouth is having work done to improve the facade at the Bayouth Insurance and Edward Jones offices at 11th and Main. Some of the improvements will be reimbursed by a Collinsville Downtown Inc. facade grant when completed. The building was built in 1911 by T.A. Lee and has seen several occupants over the years but mostly the Bayouth Dept. (clothing) Store founded by Snook's grandfather Sol Bayouth.
Don't Forget The
Middle School Band
Ted,
I was reading your coverage on the last school board meeting and thought I would mention that the middle school band also scored all 1's at performance in Bartlesville on March 3rd. They also scored all 1's at their Pre-District contest in Claremore in February.

Just thought you might would like to know.

Owasso / Collinsville Taxes
Having never been to a "splash park" which is one of the items pending on Collinsville's April 7th Sales Tax / Improvements vote ... I made a recent visit to three of Owasso's parks. Collinsville's splash park, skateboard park & playground equipment may not look the same but I have a better appreciation of the possibilities now. I don't know anything about Owasso's park funding but would suspect that Collinsville residents have helped pay for at least some portion with sales tax on purchases made in Owasso. If you would like to see improved park facilities in Collinsville vote yes April 7th and spend your money in Collinsville. -- Ted Wright
Owasso's downtown streetscape improvements (yes Owasso has a downtown) were completed in 2008. Collinsville did two blocks of streetscape work (10th to 12th) and hope to add two additional blocks with approval from the April 7th voters. Collinsville will eventually have a center turn lane downtown (similar to Owasso's above) either late this spring or summer according to Mayor Stan Sallee based on his latest status report from ODOT.
