Main Street View Will Change
ODOT crews are set to start work Monday April 20, 2009, to mill off several inches of old asphalt overlays before laying down new asphalt from 5th to 17th on Main Street. This will finally finish the phase I streetscape project (other than the trees which may also be planted in the next few weeks). The new striping should include the new center turn lanes in the downton area where the sidewalks have been reduced.
Previous Coverage: Owasso Compare & Projects
City Manager Pam Polk announced today that she had received word from ODOT that they would begin the milling for the new asphalt on Main Street Monday April 20th. Please park elsewhere then (10th to 12th) and check back for more details. Possibly grinding down the old pavement then and returning with new asphalt April 27th? -- Ted 4/14/2009 (There will eventually be a center turn lane. The work was originally expected back at the end of last summer but was delayed due to the shortage of approved asphalt). [Samples drilled Aug. 15, 2008] -- {{later update: The ODOT work could run from 5th to 17th St & the creek cleanup work could begin again next week also}}
