2015 Collinsville Tri-County Fair
General Livestock Rules and Regulations

1. Only registered 4-H and FFA members (including cloverbuds) may show livestock.

2. In all cases, exhibitor must furnish, when required, registration papers in that individual’s name for all animals they are exhibiting.

3. Exhibitor must show their own animal.

4. Exhibitor must furnish own feed, bedding (shavings only, no straw) and water containers.

5. Please clean up the area of all trash before leaving.

6. All property of every character entered for competition or any other purpose, or being anywhere on the fairgrounds, shall be under the control of the Fair Board. In no case shall the Fair Board be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury of any character or to any such property while under their control, or at any time or place.

7. The Tri-County Fair Board reserves the right to interpret these rules and regulations and to arbitrarily settle all questions or disputes arising in connection with the Tri- County Fair to be held under the management of this Board.

8. Under no circumstances will any drug or drugs be administered to animals while at the Tri-County Fair.

9. All protests must be made in writing and accompanies by a $50 cash deposit. Deposit will be forfeited if protest is not sustained. The said protest must state plainly the cause of the complaint and must be filed with the Department Superintendent within 30 minutes after the award is made and ribbon is placed.

10. Superintendents shall have the discretion to divide market animals into weight classes and number of animals per class as deemed necessary to make the show fair and equitable for the majority of the participants.

Junior Market Swine Show

Entries Accepted: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Entry Fee: $ 20 for first entry per exhibitor and $15 each additional entry per exhibitor – CASH only
Show time: 7:00 p.m.

Each exhibitor will receive a 70th annual Tri-County Fair T-shirt

Showmanship: Before the show open to exhibitors only - $5.00 to enter. Will pay first, second and third places with entry fees.

Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date


Show order: Alphabetically by breed with crossbreeds showing last.

1. Negative pseudo rabies papers and premise ID required on all swine.
2. All swine will be shown as market swine
3. No oil or paint allowed on animals.
4. Read General Livestock Rules and Regulations.

Junior Market Sheep Show

Entries Accepted: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Entry Fee: $ 20 for first entry per exhibitor and $15 each additional entry per exhibitor – CASH only
Show time: Approximately 1:00 p.m. or immediately following beef show.

Each exhibitor will receive a 70th annual Tri-County Fair T-shirt

Showmanship: Before the show open to exhibitors only - $5.00 to enter. Will pay first, second and third places with entry fees.

Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date

Show order: Alphabetically by breed with crossbreeds showing last.

1. No weight limit on sheep
2. No oil or paint may be used on animals
3. All animals must be slick sheared to show
4. All sheep will be shown as market sheep
5. Must have lamb teeth, no sign of permanent teeth.
6. Animals may be dismissed due to contagious diseases at discretion of show superintendent
7. Read General Livestock Rules and Regulations.

Junior Goat Show

Show order: Wethers, Doe kids

1. Animals may be dismissed for visible fungus or other sickness at discretion of show superintendent.
2. Does cannot show in a wether class
3. Does must have milk teeth
4. No registration papers required for doe show
5. All goats will be shown by weight

Junior Beef Show

Entry Fee: $ 30 for first entry per exhibitor and $25 each additional entry per exhibitor – CASH only
Show time: Approximately 8:30 a.m.

Showmanship: Before the show open to exhibitors only - $5.00 to enter. Will pay first, second and third places with entry fees.

Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date

Show order: Prospect steers, Progress steers, Heifers

Steers:

1. Will be shown by weight.
2. Prospect steers weight 900 pounds and below. Progress steers weight 901 pounds and over.
3. Read General Livestock Rules and Regulations.

Heifers:

1. Heifers will be shown by age in each breed.
2. All heifers must have been born on or after August 22, 2013
3. Heifers must be accompanied by an official registration certificate or will show as commercial
heifer.
4. Commercial heifers will be shown by weight.
5. Heifers will be shown in alphabetical order by breed and classed by age with commercial
heifers showing last (by weight).
6. Herefords polled or horned will show together.
7. Breeds and breed influences will show together
