The Duncan softball team received the 5A State Academic Championship trophy (3.81 GPA) while Collinsville waited behind them. Both teams wore red shirts. Collinsville had white pants while Duncan wore grey. | ||||||||||||

A 4th inning bloop single off Brittany Kickapoo's bat left two Duncan fielders on the ground and brought home KK Bowman for a 4-1 score. Bowman's single had scored Murphy for 3-1. | ||||||||||||

Third baseman Rylee Delozier's throw to the plate was a bit high but Darci Chester (#22) made the catch and came back down to the plate before the runner arrived based on the ump's call (which the Duncan fans disputed). That got the first out of the 5th inning and pitcher Ashton Friend got a strikeout and another out to escape with no Duncan runs across and Collinsville still up 4-1.. | ||||||||||||

After a Makayla Bowman walk, Brittany Kickapoo (left) laid down a 2 base sacrifice bunt moving Bowman to 3rd base. Rylee DeLozier got a single but Bowman couldn't advance. Darci Chester (right) then hit a sacrafice fly that allowed Bowman to move the score to 6-1 in the 6th inning. | ||||||||||||
Duncan scored one on a 7th inning double but the 2nd runner attempting to score ran into a Darci Chester road block and was tagged out by Rylee Delozier in the run down. | ||||||||||||
The 6-2 Collinsville win Thursday moves them to the second round of the 5A bracket -vs- Deer Creek at 2:30pm Friday. Another win would put Collinsville in the finals 2:30 Saturday. | ||||||||||||
