Independence Celebration
Collinsville City Park Celebration And Fireworks Postponed From July 2nd
Family Fun & Avoided Rain
The City had already postponed once (Thursday July 2nd for severe thunderstorms in the area) and it was overcast with another severe thunderstorm front headed this direction for the retry Monday July 6th, but by starting the fireworks just a bit early, the big crowd at Collinsville City Park enjoyed the celebration and had time to get home before the rain arrived.
Grand River Dam Authority (the city's electrical supplier) has given the city a grant for the past few years that greatly helps pay most of expence of the high quality fireworks show for Collinsville's Independence Day celebration.
Previous Coverage

We are getting the word out that tonight's festivities have been postponed until Monday night. Staff have been in phone contact with Tulsa weather stations this morning and the chance of storms containing lightening and strong winds is too great this evening. The City is concerned about public safety and the decision to have the celebration moved to Monday evening July 6th was based on this concern.
