Sunday Oct. 19th: Bull Riding For Special Olympics
Just wanted to update you on the bullriding we had on Sunday. We had an excellent turnout for the event and the weather cooperated beautifully. Attached is a picture of the Special Olympic Athletes and friends greeting the 32 bullriders that competed. Special thanks to MAKEM Buck and Circle L Rodeo for putting the benefit together.

New "Food" School Fundraiser Exemptions Announced
Good morning everyone,
I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing Fall Break. I have some exciting news regarding school fundraisers that I would love to share with you. The Oklahoma Board of Education voted late Friday to allow all Oklahoma schools to have 30 fundraiser exemptions per school site per semester for which the Smart Snack/Competitive Food guidelines do not apply. Historically we have not had more than 30 fundraiser requests that included food per semester. A few guidelines to keep in mind for your upcoming fundraisers:

1. Your fundraiser can not exceed 14 days by the new Oklahoma Board of Education ruling. If your fundraiser is planned for more than 14 days your fundraiser will not meet the new guidelines and will not be exempt from the Smart Snack/Competitive Food guidelines
2. You can not sell your fundraiser during breakfast and lunch meal service hours. If you feel you need to sell your fundraiser during these times, it will have to meet the Smart Snack/Competitive Food guidelines. I am happy to help you with this.
3. The process for completing fundraisers for approval will not change. These requests will continue to be signed by administration and I will continue to keep records for our upcoming surveys.

I have worked with many of you to find items your students can sell that do meet the Smart Snack/Competitive Food guidelines and you are welcome to use the healthier alternatives we have already approved or you can simply resubmit your fundraiser requests with the new information. If I can help provide further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you everyone for all you do for our students and district every day!!!

Jr. High Update -- CARDINAL FOOTBALL --
Oct. 20th Games With Kelleyville "B"

The Collinsville Cardinal 7th and 8th grade football “B” teams played the Kellyville Ponies Monday night (Oct. 20th). Each contest was filled with fun and excitement as the equally matched teams slugged it out.
The kicking game proved to be the difference maker in the 7th grade game as the Cardinals held on to win a close one 7-0.
The 8th grade game was a close game also. The Ponies had some really big boys up front and controlled the LOS. Ponies win 13-0.
Each game allowed the Cardinals to play every player and was a reward for the efforts in practice they give each day.
Our next action will be this Thursday at Skiatook. The Metro Lakes Conference games begin at 5pm.
Hope to see the Cardinal Nation come out in force to support the Jr. High Teams.

I was only able to attend a bit of the 7th grade game before leaving for the city commission meet Monday ... but will add a photo of the 7th grade TD (below). -- Ted Wright
7th Grade QB Caleb Mitchell (#4) faked a handoff and then circled around left end for the only touchdown of the game at 4:25 in the 2nd quarter against Kelleyville here Monday. The play covered about 13 yards. Colton Mosier ran in the extra point.
