7th & 8th Grade Football -vs- Grove Oct. 9th
CARDINAL FOOTBALL
Jr. High Update
10-10-14

The newest member of the Metro Lakes Conference, the Grove Ridgerunners, flew into Sallee Stadium Thursday night for a conference showdown. In the end, the Cardinals plucked the feathers of the Ridgerunners for a slow walk back to Grove.
Each game was a hard fought contest. The brutal running game, outstanding kicking game and the aerobatic passing assault of the Cardinals was too much for the Grove defense. The dominating defense of the Cardinals had a bend but not break attitude all night long.

7th Grade: Cardinals win 33-6 (6-0)
8th Grade: Cardinals win 28-12 (6-0)
9th grade: Cardinals win by forfeit (5-1)

The Grove 9th grade team could not make the trip due to eligibility issues. Congratulations to our freshmen for maintaining their grade this season.

Parker Holmes had to be taken to the emergency room for a cut on his finger and received 7 stitches.

I would like to say thank you to the chain crew, Jake Douglas, Dalton Price, Dalton Cecil and Nick Moore for helping out.

The 7th and 8th grade will play a “B” game against Kellyville at Sallee Field on October 20. Games begin at 5. Then we will travel to Skiatook on October 23rd for what could be the conference title showdown. Hope to see the Cardinal Nation at each event.

JrHi Football At Ponca City Oct. 2nd
CARDINAL FOOTBALL
Jr. High Update
10-2-14

The Collinsville Cardinal Jr. High Football teams traveled to Ponca City Tuesday night for a non-Conference battle. Tulsa Bishop Kelley, a former member of the Metro Lakes Conference, dropped the Cardinals last spring and left our junior program scrambling for a contest in the open date. It was a great experience for our kids to play another 6A program.
The 7th grade game was a hard fought contest. The Cardinals running game was outstanding and the defense swarmed the Wildcats running backs all night long. In the end the Cardinals were just too much defeating the Cats 21-6. No injuries were reported. The 7th grade improve their record to 5-0.
The 8th grade game was a debacle. The Cardinal defense was overwhelming for the Wildcats offense and the Cardinal offense was unstoppable for the Cats defense. The Cardinals scored in every way, offense, defense and the kicking game. Cardinals won 47-0. The 8th grade improved their record to 5-0. Eric Cullen suffered a broken collar bone during the week of preparation. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Our 9th grade continues to improve each week. The combination of running and passing on offense kept the Cats off balance all night long. Our defense brought terror to the Cats offense. Cardinals win big 33-6. We improve our record to 4-1. Hayden West suffered a severe knee bruise. Justin Sutton also suffered a hip pointer.
Another big thanks goes out to our Cheerleaders who made the long trip to support our teams, also thanks again to the Quarter Back Club Moms for the meals they prepared for the boys.
The Cardinals host the Grove Ridgerunners next Thursday at Sallee Field in a Metro Lakes Conference contest. Games begin at 5pm. Hope to see the Cardinal Nation there. It’s Great to be a Cardinal!
