Caboose
Re-Dedication Monday Sept. 16th
|
|
CHS
senior Josh McBlair (with a lot of family and community support) has been working
for 2 years to repair and repaint the caboose exterior on the Collinsville fairgrounds
next to the Depot Museum. Josh is a member of Owasso Scout Troop 93.
The
Collinsville City Commission & City Manager are thankful for the great job
that Josh accomplished with the caboose. (L-R) Commissioner Bud York, Josh McBlair,
Commissioner Dee Sink, Commissioner Brad Francis, City Manager Pam Polk, and
Commissioner Larry Shafer.
The
on and off rain Monday evening moved a portion of the dedication program under
the roof of the nearby fair barns. Vice-Mayor Bud York spoke on behalf of the
City of Collinsville in thanking Josh and his family for their effort that help
improve the city as well as help Josh reach his Eagle Scout goal. The city partners
with the Collinsville Historical Society to maintain (and hopefully operate
for public viewing again someday?) the Santa Fe depot museum and caboose. McBlair's
project focused on the exterior of the caboose while the interior will also
need a lot of work in the future.
Just
a portion of the friends, family and community that joined Josh McBlair at his
caboose re-dedication Monday evening.
Bill
Thomas (President of the Collinsville Historical Society) was one of those greeting
and thanking Josh McBlair Monday.
