Redwine 3rd Quarter Spark
Collinsville traveled to Webster's Milton Stadium to take on Tulsa Central High School Friday evening. The Collinsville band was not given a time slot to march (either pre-game or halftime which was Central's Homecoming).
Zane McElroy (#4) was back in uniform for the first time this season and was the "emergency" backup for QB Brandon Lowe who got his first start with Shawn Koscheski sidelined. Freshman QB Seth Boomer is also sidelined. Lowe played the entire game and scored two running TDs, had a TD pass, and handled the punting duties. McElroy expects to be ready for full contact by next week.
Justin Kothe (#45) is in the center of the action of this group tackle of the Central ball carrier in the first quarter.
Parker Brown (#55) had this tackle in the Central backfield setting up a 4th and 12 and a punt on Central 2nd possession which was in the 2nd quarter.
Quarterback Brandon Lowe (#2) has just received the shotgun snap from Colton Connover (#53) early in the 2nd half and started an 80 yard scoring drive alternating between Lowe keeps and Marcus Redwine (#3) carries.
Marcus Redwine (#3) with a big gain in the 3rd quarter opening drive.
Marcus Redwine (#3) reached Central's 25 on this 3rd quarter carry. His next rush was to the 11.
Brandon Lowe (#2) split these two would-be defenders and scored the first Cardinal point on this 11 yard TD run at 8:22 in the 3rd quarter. Sergio Perez kicked the extra point for a 7-12 score.
A Central punt to the Cardinal 6 yard line made Collinsville travel 94 yard on their next scoring drive in the 3rd quarter with Brandon Lowe (#2) covering the final 33 yards above with 1:17 left in the 3rd. Sergio Perez's extra point kick had Collinsville up 14-12.
Collinsville scored their 3rd touchdown in a row on this 25 yard toss from Brandon Lowe (#2) to T.J. Johnson in the endzone.
By the time my camera reset from the photo of Lowe throwing the pass (above) I missed a remarkable T.J. Johnson touchdown catch. TJ went straight up and reached over the top of the Central defender to haul in the 25 yard toss at 9:30 in the 4th quarter and a 20-12 score.
Sergio Perez had his 3rd extra point kick attempt blocked.
Collinsville's record is now 4 Wins & 2 losses and they host Coweta next week.
