A Running Account of info posted on cvilleok.com since learning of the crash about 6:10pm Sunday April 7th -- Ted Wright
Check back for more information on a small plane crash into a vacant Collinsville house facing Broadway between 13th & 14th Street. I have no first hand info. -- Ted Wright -- 7pm Sunday 4/7/2013 ... photos posted ~7pm also
Apparently the plane crashed (from the south) into the yard and then hit the house and sent burning debris over the house onto Broadway.
Channel 6 indicates one fatality was confirmed by OHP. The house is just north (across the alley) from Marilyn Hardacre and Collinsville Family Dentistry offices that face Main toward the Baptist Church (which was in session).
8:15pm Update: Video on Joel Mitchell's Facebook (also just across the alley from his office) & still photos of flames on Joel's Facebook also. Channel 6 aerial view on Facebook.
9:45pm Tulsa World Link indicates multiple fatalities for the crash that occurred shortly before 6pm.

Chris Gruber (from Kansas State University) identified as one of victims in Collinsville plane crash -- per Fox23 at 11:36am 4/8/2013
Pilot identified as Ron Marshall (also from Kansas) Also 4/8/2013 NTSB Press Conference -- per TV Channel 6
Chris Gruber's posted Instagram photo of the plane -- credit to TV Channel 2 story for that link. -- Ted 4/9/2013
This portion of the plane wreckage (and a lot of dirt) ended up on the Broadway roadway Sunday.
This is a view of the backyard where the plane crashed (where the firemen are standing) with the rear of house sustaining damage either from the fire and possibly flying debris. The front of the house (which was vacant) faces north onto Broadway about mid-way between 13th and 14th Streets.
This charred grass is in front of the house just east of the yard where the plane went down. This view is looking west on Broadway.
About an hour after the crash there was a search of the creek area east of the park (between 14th and 15th off South Street about 3 block south of the crash scene. I'm not sure anything was found and suspect it was followup to unconfirmed reports of objects or a person falling from the plane before the crash. -- Ted
This is a view looking west down the alley between Dolton's Funeral Home and Garner's Flowers within the crash block. Other businesses in that block that were just a stone's throw from the crash were Collinsville Family Dentistry, Marilyn Hardacre Realty, Attorney Joel Mitchell, State Farm Insurance, and the Cherokee Housing Authority office. There are also two or three residential homes facing Broadway in that block.
Collinsville is still on the prime time news beat about 22 hours later with the Tulsa TV stations still tracking events here as the FAA investigation continues. These broadcast trucks were parked at 14th and Broadway Monday evening April 8th.

Subject: plane crash

My daughter and I were out walking our dogs when we heard and saw everything. We were a block from the explosion. We were at the scene before the police or Fire trucks arrived. We stayed for a while but there was such a huge crowd of people after a few minutes, we decided to leave and let the police and firemen do their jobs. It was an awful thing to see! Our dogs were freaking out after a little while because of all the sirens also.

It was an awful thing to see! Thank God no one else was harmed or killed. It could have been a lot worse!

I will never forget that as long as I live! Either will my daughter!

It was like a scene out of a movie or something. Hard to believe it happened right in our town! So sad for the families of the victims.

My prayers and thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

The plane came straight down from the sky from the south west from where we were. It was moving so fast, it was like a rocket. I just saw the white paint of a plane and the wings where inverted. I have never seen anything like it. I work at an aircraft company and I have never heard of aircraft wings breaking like that. I wasn’t really sure It was a plane at first. I thought it may have been a helicopter, the way the wings were as it came down.

We didn’t see any parts falling from the sky at our location. When it exploded, we ran as fast as we could, pulling our dogs with us! My daughter thought it had hit the church across from the dentist office. But we saw it didn’t after we got there. After the explosion, there were materials falling in a very light mist like consistency. It made it hard to breath after that and the fumes from the aircraft fuel in the air was so thick that we had to hold our breath for a few seconds to breath after the explosion.

Hope I don’t ever see something like that again. It was terrible!

I was a witness to the plane crash also. My mother and I were walking our dogs. Ever since we had walked out the doors they were acting weird and pulling us along when they never really have pulled us like they were doing. They wouldn't calm down and everything we did couldn't get them to calm down. About 5 minutes after we had left the house we started hearing a loud plane sound and it just kept getting louder and louder. My mother looked up at the sky before I did as I heard her scream "Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!" And I looked up and the plane came as fast as a rocket out of the sky and the wings were bent back. As soon as it hit the ground my mom and I started sprinting to the scene of the crash. We were about a block away whem this happened. When we got there only one cop had arrived.

My boyfriend's dad is the fire chief's son and I called him right away to have him tell his dad to get down on Broadway ASAP! We stayed at the scene for around 15 minutes and during that time we saw the body(s) on the road. It was a very upsetting thing to see. It made me very sad and I did cry a couple of times. When we were there it felt like the whole town of Collinsville got there very fast, there was enough crowds around so my mom and I left because we didn't want to make the firefighters and police authorities jobs any harder than it already was. My step dad called me and felt the house shake and thought it was thunder and looked at the radar and there were no nearby storms and he found out the plane crashed right after. He called me and asked me where my mother and I were at and he rushed there right away to see what was left. When we got home he had to me he saw various body parts in the ditches nearby.

I got inside my house to call the youth pastor of the First Baptist Church to see if he was at the church when this had happened. He told me that he was not there and had no idea that the plane crashed by the church so I briefly explained to him what had happened. He thanked me that I called. Therefore, it was a very sad day. I pray for the plane crash victim's families and I am very thankful that no one on the ground was hurt or injured.

I received information from another eye witness (who wished to not be identified) Tuesday: They indicated they were about two blocks east from the crash scene and noticed the plane had no tail before hearing the engine sputter. The plane then nose dived with the wings folded back and rolled slightly before crashing. A huge fire ball arose about 20 feet over the tree line. -- Ted 4/9/2013
