Hannah's Helping Hands, Inc. — Our Mission
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance to families with children battling cancer. Many families need help with the most basic needs for their families during this fight for their child’s life. Some must leave work for months and even years to care for their sick child and the financial loss can be devastating. Our goal is to help as many families being treated locally as possible. We help with basic needs such as gas & food cards, groceries, wigs, utility payments, prescriptions, medical co-payments, rent/housing as well as other expenses. Our referrals come from doctors, nurses and staff at a local children’s hospital in Tulsa as well as our local communities.

I've been around for over 60 years now and until today had never before seen clouds form their own rainbow-like light show (without rain somewhere), This occured early afternoon during the JrHi Track meet in the sky facing south from the Collinsville High School Track. -- Ted Wright --6:45pm 4/19/2012 -- Check back later (likely a few days) for additional track photos. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with the high school meet scheduled here Friday.

Thank You!

World Book Night -- April 23rd
My name is Colleen Wilson. I live in Collinsville and am volunteering for an organization called World Book Night. Basically, thousands of book lovers around the country have volunteered to hand out 20 copies of a book of our choice for free on the evening of Monday April 23rd. The organization has supplied the books and the library in Collinsville is allowing me to hand out the books in front of the building on Monday at 5:30pm. I only have 20 copies so it will be on a first-come, first serve basis. If anyone would like more information on World Book Night they can visit http://www.us.worldbooknight.org/

World Book Night is to benefit those that may not be able to purchase their own books. The purpose is to allow these people, that may not normally read a book like this, to own their own and hopefully develop a love of reading. I would prefer that people who have the means of purchasing their own books kindly allow the less fortunate the opportunity to receive the books. The title of the book I will be handing out is "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot. I chose this not only because of my passion in molecular biology and interest in the history of cell lines, but more importantly, it is a fascinating story that raises important moral questions that go far beyond science. If you need any further information please let me know. If you could post information about World Book Night on the Cville website I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Todd Anderson, new Collinsville High School Head Boys Basketball Coach, was introduced to his future team today at CHS. Anderson comes to Collinsville from Tulsa Memorial. (4/18/2012) -- Previous Coverage
Check back later for a few more photos from Monday's district varsity soccer games with Nathan Hale. Lauren Wilson (#21 above) scored on this play to put the CHS Girls up 3-0 which was the final score. The boys were trailing 0-2 when I left before half time. -- Ted (4/17/2012)
