"Solution" In-Progress ... After Years of Waiting & Wondering & Accidents
I don't know the age of the "S-Curve", but it is a key feature in some mid-1950s photos I have and I suspect it may be the original highway configuration from many years earlier, but need more reserarch to confirm. -- Ted Wright 6/26/2011
Dirt is being moved for the new (straighter) path of the "curve" that transitions Highway 20 from Broadway to/from Main St. The photo above (& to the left) show dirt work between 18th & 19th St.
This elevated view of the new lane work from 17th to 16th is from one of the mounds of dirt near 18th June 21st.
The grass & dirt has been removed and a gravel base is now in place (from 14th to 17th) for what will become a new lane east bound lane of Main Street.
