QB Club Banquet & Volunteers Sought

Football Dessert Banquet, sponsored by The Collinsville Cardinal Quarterback Club -- Thursday, January 27, 2011, 6:30 in the CHS Commons

Also, there will be a Quarterback Meeting Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the CHS Commons.

Volunteers are needed to be a part of the Quarterback Club. It doesn't matter if you have a child playing football, a cheerleader, or band member - just be a Cardinal Fan! Officers will be elected on this night so that preparations can begin for the upcoming season.

The Quarterback Club is a great organization that has a passion to raise the money necessary to show support for Collinsville Football from second grade up to Varsity. Most
people probably don't know what the Quarterback Club does, so here is a list of items completed in 2010.

> Schedule breakfasts at local churches for Varsity players, cheerleaders, trainers, and coaches every Varsity game morning.
> Organize and plan for "Meet the Cardinals Night" along with the Varsity Cheerleaders.
> Gave $4800 to Collinsville Football to purchase clothing for players 7th-Varsity. The players wear these at practices and to every football game.
> $1010 donated for one charter bus to take the Varsity players to McAlester game.
> Fed the Varsity players, trainers, and coaches every Varsity game (Home and Away). Provided snack bags and fed the Jr. High Players after one home game. We gave a gift of support to all youth football players.
> "Football on a Mission" by creating the 1st Pink Night. We were able to give back 50% of profits to Susan G. Koman.
> Provided food and organize the annual "Bonfire"
> Will be giving senior players, and trainers a gift at dessert banquet.
> Programs - Fans & Companies were able to purchase ads in the program to show love for their favorite Cardinal. Many donations were received to be able to do the program prizes.
> Fee's are not covered by the school. We have been able to do this by your support of buying a Quarterback Club membership ($3,000 this year) or from the Cardinal Store profits.
> The Quarterback Club would like to purchase a trailer for merchandise - to distribute and maintain for safe keeping. Donations will be gladly accepted for this purchase. In return, we would like to put the name of your business on this trailer. Join the meeting Feb. 3 for more information. For those of you that are too busy to attend the meeting - donations can be accepted at:

Just Before The Snow ...
Crews were smoothing out the new cement sidewalks and curbs on the NW corner of 9th and Main Wednesday Jan 19th just hours before the overnight snowfall which has slowed streetscape work since Wednesday.
