HOME REPRESENTATIVE CLUB PRESIDENT'S DAY COLORING CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

The Home Representative Club (HRC) of Collinsville was very excited to host the 1st President's Day Coloring Contest for students at Collinsville Wilson Elementary. HRC is a civic organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services. For over 50 years just some of the programs that HRC has implemented for the students of the Collinsville School system are:

* Sponsor the annual Mother/Daughter Senior Tea for CHS graduating senior girls
* Award a college scholarship to a Collinsville High School graduating senior; and
* Organize and donate Christmas baskets full of new toys, clothes and food gift certificates to children in the Collinsville school system from the Angel Tree.

The Home Representative Club would like to thank Bank of the Lakes of Collinsville for their generous donation of paper and crayons for each child, Wilson elementary school staff, Tina Schmauss and Kendra Salisbury and Principal Cheryl Hunt for their cooperation and professionalism during this contest. The club would also like to thank the students and the teachers for their time and devotion to this project. Even the blizzard of 2011 didn't stop the students and staff from participating in this fun project. After each teacher discussed President's Day with their class, each student was then asked to color a picture that best represents President's Day by being creative and showing neatness. The winners received a trophy and a ribbon from the Home Representative Club. It is with great excitement to announce the 2011 Home Representative Club Wilson Elementary President's Day Coloring Contest winners.

Congratulations to all! -- Rusti Howard (2/28/2011)

Gas Prices Back Above $3 Again
I filled my gas tank Friday to get ready for the trip to OKC (wrestling) Saturday and finally remembered to get a photo of the price which has been rising the past few weeks to now be above $3 per gallon for unleaded regular. I was surprised (following a search for the link below) that it had been so long (2008) since gas prices had been dynamic news (at least to me) -- Ted.
February Yo-Yo Weather Warm Again
The Collinsville City Park was full of kids Sunday Feb. 27th, 2011, enjoying the unseasonably warm (70+ degree) temperatures. From basketball, skateboard, and softball practice weather it is a marked contrast to the first week of the month with 2 feet of snow and record low temperatures.
