Reece
Montgomery (#4 left) launched a running shot from well beyond mid-court just before
time expired at the end of the 2nd overtime with a 3rd OT at 51-51 looking certain.
Instead, the shot ripped through the net and the players and fans piled on top
of Montgomery with an improbable 54-51 win over Skiatook's boys on the Cardnals'
Senior Night. |
Skiatook
missed several opportunities to put the game away including this miss with 4.3
seconds on the clock as the 2nd OT wound down (with Dalton Moore #33 defending).
Montgomery (#4) took this miss and after just a few dribbles took his long-range
miracle shot. Skiatook had also let Collinsville off the hook by missing two free
throws at the end of regulation at 43-43.
Reece
Montgomery was first swarmed by his teammates before the stunned fans joined in
(top photo above).
These
CHS Basketball Seniors had a memorable night as they played their final home game
for the Cardinals.
This
Jamaro Oakley (#5) steal and layup with 10.7 seconds left in the second overtime
tied the score at 51-51 and forced Skiatook to take their final shot/miss which
Montgomery converted.
The
Basketball & Cheerleading Seniors were joined by family and a few teachers
for the Senior Night ceremony. Individual photos will appear on these senior's
pages May 1st (if I can get them done on schedule) -- Ted
Coach
Dave Cross had his own version of "Senior Night" as he completed his
last night on the basketball clock after 25 years.
Steven
Majike (#35) sank back to back buckets to close Collinsville within 35-39 with
4:09 left in the game . The Cards trailed 3-13 after the 1st quarter and 10-24
at half. The 3rd quarter ending score was 27-35.
Second
half action in the girls game.
First
half fast break in the boys game.
Shelbie
Kirby (#5) had the bench bracing for impact as she chased a loose ball out of
bounds.
The
enthusistic CHS fans definitely got an assist for helping the Cardinals rally
and survive against the Bulldogs.
Dylan
Weabe (#25) sank this shot for Collinsville's first lead at 42-41 with 1:51 left
in regulation.
Dalton
Moore with a rebound.
