Collinsville 4th Grade Football team would like to thank everyone that attended
their car wash this past Sunday and donated money. We would also like to thank
the Collinsville City Fire Dept. for their help. The event was a huge success!

| Reminder for any of my CHS 1969 classmates that they are invited to a planning meeting Sat. Aug. 15, 2009 at the Library (4:30pm). The goal is to decide if a 40th year anniversary reunion is freasible or which year would be? |
| I was walking my dog Georgia home from work about 1:30am Tuesday (Aug, 11th) when we encountered a skunk crossing 13th St. at Spring St. I was trying to "run" towards the house to avoid a smelly confronation while Georgia was trying to pull the lease toward an animal she had never seen before. We were within about 15 feet with the skunk trotting towards us before it ducked into the culvert while I won the tug of war with Georgia. I'm happy to report the smelly nightmare I was envisioning was avoided. |
| I had an unsolicited offer from a publisher this week to write a Collinsville History Book (which I hope to do some day) but decided to decline as there is no way I could get it done with my current work schedule. |
| I had an email question if there were dances now at the Veterans Building (as there had been years ago). I answered that I was not aware of any but didn't know who to ask? -- Ted Wright |
