Middle School For Parents August 18th

Collinsville Middle School
Back to School Night - August 18th

Parents will visit all the classes in their child’s schedule in a mini-version of the child’s day. Parents will meet the teachers, find out valuable information about course curriculum and classroom specific topics and get to know their child’s daily schedule and routine. Please remember Back to School Night provides an immeasurable opportunity for parents to learn what to expect this academic year.
Parents will begin meeting in the Middle School Cafeteria for a short welcome beginning at 5:45 p.m. Parents will then attend their child’s first hour class promptly at 6:00 p.m. Parents will follow a bell schedule allowing ten minutes per class with a five minute passing period.

Helpful Hints:
Arrive early due to limited parking
Ask your child to write down his or her class schedule for you to follow. (students are welcome to attend)
If you have more than one child at the school, you will need to strategize. If your older child has already had the teacher that your younger child now has, you might decide that visiting your older child’s teacher is the priority for the evening. If both parents and grandparents are able to attend, you can divide and conquer or take turns in the different classrooms.
For more information please go to the school website at www.collinsville.k12.ok.us

There will not be enough time for parents to talk to their child’s teachers about specific situations or concerns. Appointments to discuss these matters can be made through the office at 371-2541.

Parent Teacher conferences will be:
October 12th 4:00-7:00 p.m.
October 13th 4:00-7:00 p.m.
February 8th 4:00-7:00 p.m.
February 9th 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Parents need to call to schedule appointments through the office secretary at 371-2541.

Garage Sale Central
A new sign board sprang up last week (behind City Hall near 12th & Broadway) where the city will allow garage sale, yard sale, and likely a few other types of signs to be posted. This was apparently done as signs posted in the public right-of-ways are illegal and are usually quickly removed by the city. I'd check with City Hall if you have questions about signs or other garage sale regulations.
Note: I you'd like a few other folks to be aware of your sale (or lost/found animal, etc). You can pay $5 (in advance) and have it posted prominently on cvilleok.com. My office is just a half block east of City Hall (& this sign). -- Ted Wright

More Tennis Court Progress
Two of the City Park tennis courts already had at least a portion of the new surface applied by Monday morning (Aug. 3rd). The other two courts were still being smoothed.
