Trip
Of A Lifetime |
Christi Worstell is on a trip of a lifetime to Nepal. She is a member of a group of 25 friends and family associated with Sabrina Gilmore, EVA flight controller for NASA/JSC, who is coordinating this trip. As a member of this outreach and scientific team, they will participate in exploration, scientific studies and philanthropy. The highlight of the trip will be the assent to Mt Everest Base Camp (18,500 ft) later this week. Christi, granddaughter of Dorothy Worstell and daughter of Earl Worstell of Sugar Land, TX, is a NASA flight controller, Missions Operations for Shuttle Electrical Systems. WHAT: Alzheimers disease is gaining awareness as its reach grows to include more than 5.3 Million Americans living with the disease. Previously unknown, misunderstood or hidden in the home, people living with Alzheimer's along with family caregivers and cutting edge research are the subjects of a new HBO documentary.
Debuting
Sunday, May 10th, The Alzheimers Project is a presentation of
HBO Documentary Films and the National Institute on Aging at the National Institute
on Health in association with the Alzheimers Association, The Fidelity Charitable
Gift Fund and the Geoffrey Beene Gives Alzheimers Initiative. o Monday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. EST: 'Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am?' with Maria Shriver" This film captures what it means to be a child or grandchild of someone living with Alzheimer's. o Monday, May 11 at 8 p.m. EST (Part 1): "Solving a Medical Mystery: Progress Reports from 25 Leading Scientists" These two-part films explore the state of research report and take viewers inside laboratories and clinics nationwide. o Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. EST: "Caregivers" This film highlights the challenges and successes of people who experience their loved one's gradual descent into dementia. o Tuesday, May 12 at 8 p.m. EST (Part 2): "Solving a Medical Mystery: Progress Reports from 25 Leading Scientists" These two-part films explore the state of research report and take viewers inside laboratories and clinics nationwide.
WHO: Interview are available from May 4-15 at your convenience. o Alzheimers Association chapter representative who can speak to the major milestones since Alzheimers was first diagnosis more than 100 years ago and provide local resources for your viewers. o People living with Alzheimers and their family caregivers who can uniquely serve the role of "movie critic," discussing what in these extremely powerful films they have or have not experienced. o Local doctor with medical insight who can share the current state of Alzheimers research. o A three-day opportunity with relevant experts speaking Monday, 5/11, Tuesday, 5/12 and Wednesday, 5/13 about The Alzheimers Project topic that aired the previous night.
