I've been expecting to catch what I assume is a small mouse at the news museum this week but was startled with this view when I opened the back door this morning. My immediate reaction was that my mouse was really a large rat ... but after a calmer review ... decided I had a baby possum which I managed to shove out the back door with a board. I think my mouse is still around but glad to have at least one stranger removed from the premises. -- Ted Wright 7/16/2008 |

Poured In Final Section of Streetscape

The new sidewalk in front of the Chamber of Commerce office was being smoothed with a large roller Wednesday morning after the south side of Main between 10th & 11th Streets received their concrete July 16th. |
Merchants (Lynn Beasley & Mert Rofkahr) were left to wait for the new sidewalks to dry for a few hours before they could get back to "normal" work Wednesday morning (on Block 59). |
The ramp at the door of Jaycee's Antiques was already poured and prep for today's concrete was being done yesterday afternoon on the SW corner of 10th & Main. |
I'm curious to see what will be going onto the lot recently cleared of the old Sonic building that had more recently been occupied by 4-A Auto Sales. This is just west of Doug's Grill between 7th & 8th on Main Street.-- Ted |
