Patchwork Quilters

The Collinsville Patchworkers met July 8 at the Library, and decided to create small quilts for the local chapter of Newborns In Need, that provides blankets, etc. to area hospitals and pregnancy crisis centers. It was also agreed to exchange 1 1/2" fabric strips (cut selvedge to selvedge) - small scale prints, solids, or batiks. This exchange is scheduled for the August 12 meeting, and the fat quarter color for August will be yellow. -- Submitted by Linda Pfeffer (&/11/2008)
Greening Of Main Street (Streetscape)
The initial greenery in the downtown streetscape was planted Thursday evening July 10th on the SW corner of 11th and Main by Movie Gallery.
The handrails for several ramps to raised doors were in place Friday.
New sidewalks are already in place in 3 of the 4 streetscape areas downtown. Sidewalks for the 4th area appear not too far away now on the south side of Main between 10th & 11th.
