Ted ,just wanted to let you know we are all finished with our concession stand and bathrooms out at the sportsplex. We had a lot of people donate their time and material to help get our facilities upgraded due to the growth of the community. I would like to personally thank all of my board members and coaches for spending time out there and helping, I would last like to thank Pat Herald and Terry Due and all the Collinsville School Board for approving our building to be built. If anybody gets anytime on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday starting at 6 pm come on out and watch these great young men grow and learn the fundamentals of baseball. One day some of these young men will be our future High Schools stars. Thanks Ron Koscheski (4/15/2008) |

Another house is being removed for the future S-Curve re-alignment near 19th Street between Broadway and Main. The new right-of-way clearing began in January 2008. |
Danny
Stanley (President of the Victory Cherokee Organization) presented plans
for the new VCO Community Center to the Collinsville Board of Adjustments
Monday April 14th, 2008. The center is funded by a grant from the Cherokee
Nation. (Previous Coverage) |

The planned
community center at the Victory Cemetery is another step closer to final
approval. The Collinsville Board of Adjustment allowed a use variance
for the center Monday. The board members are Ron Scott, Gerald Branen,
Connie Goad & Shannon Stubblefield. Ward 2 is currently unrepresented
on the board but Herb Weaver was mentioned as a potential candidate soon.
Annexation into the city for the small historical Victory
Cemetery (just north of town off 12th Street) is also in the approval
cycle with the city commission. Danny
Stanley indicated the new VCO center would also be available for use by
the general public. The Collinsville Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing Thursday (April 17th at 6:30pm) with restrictions on advertising signs and metal commercial building on their agenda. |
