approved ---
Wednesday Dec. 20th was added as a school day (delaying winter break
by 1 day) to make up for the 3rd day lost to bad weather already. Only
two bad weather days were set aside in the original
schedule (April 13th & 20th) to end school before the Memorial
Day holiday. May 24, 2007 remains the last day of classes even with
this change, but would need to be changed if further days are lost to
weather or any other reason.

23 students' statuses that were mis-coded in the original results which

12) Assistant Superintendent's Report. -- Terry
Due's report:
- Work
had been progressing nicely on the new ECC building before the sleet
& snow storm of last week. Most of the roof has been installed
and metal studs are started on the north end of the new building.
~$20K in change orders are being negotiated (including relocation
of a rural water meter, a lift station for waste flow and a transformer
change.)
- Bad
weather at the new CHS track is delaying the sod placement and fence
installation but will begin as soon as the ground is dry enough. The
target date for the final track coating has been moved from Dec. 8th
to Dec. 15th.
13) Superintendent's Report.
-- Pat Herald's report:
- Pat
thanked Bob Cottingim, Tim Nelson and Louis Keith for their extra
efforts clearing snow and ice at all of the school campuses which
allowed school to resume Tuesday.
- Guttering
problems have been reported at most campuses due to the heavy snow
and ice.
- A
police search in town last week (for a suspect that might have been
armed) caused a temporary lockdown at the middle school based on indirect
information as the school was not contacted directly by the city or
police. Officer Boggs was out of town during the event but he, the
city and school leaders will continue to meet and discuss ways to
improve communication for any situation when school safety might be
involved.
14) Announcements.
- Joe
Hampton has filed for another 5 year school board term and will be
opposed by Keath Storm in the Feb. 13th election for post #2.

Due and Wendell Johnson attended a school safety seminar Tuesday
