Susan Catlett sent me these photos of the clouds around Collinsville Saturday night (Aug. 13) just before the big wind front came through. The past three days (Sat-Sun-Mon) Collinsville has received several soaking rainfalls which will go a long way towards saving trees, grass and crops that were stressed after a very dry summer so far.
"Tulsa World" Photographer Robert Cross took several close up photos of old newspaper production artifacts at the "Newspaper Museum In Collinsville" today (Aug. 15, 2005). Some may be used in World's 100th Anniversary edition scheduled for next month. The Tulsa newspaper started in 1905 while Collinsville's newspaper started in 1899.
