How to Win Mystery 12 (Solved)

There are three groups of 4 photos each above (A, B & C). Within each group, there is one thing in common among the individuals shown that you need to email to me to win. Obviously there may be many other things they might have in common (lived in Collinsville, went to CHS. ...etc) but those won't win this contest. Only the one commononality that I have in mind will get you a free snow cone at Miss Nancy's. Depending on how hard this turns out to be ... I'll be giving additional clues and might give a prize for each different group's answer. I might even throw in a free www.cvilleok.com t-shirt for anyone that not only tells me what each group has in common but the names of all the individuals. -- Ted Wright

Winners:
A -- Gayle Wolfe submitted the 1st prize eligible correct answer 8/4... after previous winners Elizabeth Sullivan and Mystery Man). I won't give you the answer just yet for anyone trying for the full-up prize below. (8/9 answer: These 4 ladies have been the most recent drum majors for the Collinsville Crimson Cadet band)

B -- No one has been even close on this one yet ... (except Mystery Man ... see below)
First clue: Mothers are important!
Second Clue: Wright-Wasson Family, Tharyn, Gary, Tony Morland (Sunday 8/7 9:40pm)
Third Clue: Winona, Betty, Ruth, Lavern, Donna (Tuesday 10:30am) (-- I'm declaring Tharyn Nachtigall winner of this one, he told me the answer: all our mother's had worked at the Collinsville News) -- Ted 9/1

C -- Mystery Man nailed this one right away but he can't claim the prize) ... two have guessed that the C group were all city commissioners ... which is close but not quite the answer I'm looking for. First clue: First photo is grandfather of last photo in C group. (Got a correct email answer: they all had been Collinsville Mayors ... from robbiekimmyjo email address -- 8/31)

A+B+C+names -- Mystery Man is closest with A & C correct and many but not all of the names ... but the 4-pack at Ms Nancy's + the cvilleok.com t-shirt are still up for grabs. I will let previous winners go for this also as I've not offered the t-shirt before.

Aug 5th 8:30pm update: Mystery Man has correctly answered all (including names) but hasn't indicated yet if he wants the prize or not so you can still try if you wish. I still need 1st time winners for B & C. (Mystery Man has claimed the cvilleok.com t-shirt prize)
Aug 27th Update: Final B hint: My mother worked for The Collinsville New ... and Tharyn's mom did also. C doesn't really need another hint ... but what do some commissions become later? -- Ted
