Goodness
let
me try for highlights!
In the fall of 1969 I enrolled as a Freshman at Oklahoma State University with a major in Family Relations and Child Development. Through the collegiate church group, I met Wes Frye from Lost Creek, Kentucky. We were married in May of 1971. In May of 1973, Wes finished is masters in Natural Sciences Education and I earned my Bachelors Degree. We moved to Dallas for Wes first job.
In 1975, we were transferred to Lawton, Oklahoma. Our son, Brian, was born in 1976 and I completed my degree in nursing at Cameron University in 1978. Soon after I graduated we were transferred to Lubbock, Texas. I had the opportunity to work Labor and Delivery at the newly completed Texas Tech Hospital. Our second son, Aaron, was born in Lubbock.
1988 found us in Wichita Kansas. This allowed me to complete my Master of Degree in Maternal Child Nursing at The Wichita State University. Over the next few years I had the opportunity to serve on faculty at Wichita State and the University of Kentucky.
In 1998, we moved to Nashvillereally a suburb, south of NashvilleThompsons Station, Tennessee. It is a beautiful area, very rich in history. In 2001, I move from a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist role at Centennial Medical Center to the HCA Corporate Offices. This role involves working with the 110 (the week) perinatal services in hospitals in the areas of best practices, process improvement, education, risk management, and research. In 2007, I became a National Patient Safety Fellow.
Brian is Director of Baptist Student Ministries for the State of Ohio. He and his wife Heidi live in Ohio. They have given us three amazing, colorful, very busy grandsons. Ian will be 6 in July. The twins, Scott and Connor just turned 4. Our only regret is that they are so far away. Aaron and Mandy are in Fort Worth. Mandy just completed the testing for her licensure in social work. Aaron is working at North Texas State University with the intent of going back to school.
So, that leaves us at home with the year old cocker spaniels, Beau and Abe. Their escapes are almost as colorful as those of our other twins! Donna (McAfee) Frye(5/23/2010)

Stories/rememberances:
Fred Rhoten climbing out of the geometry room window on second floor of the old high school and coming back in the front door when we had Ms. Carter as a substitute is one memory that comes to mind.
Hope others can do better in this area .

Wright Note: Donna's Dad Bud was Collinsville Mayor for a few years (in the
1990s) ... maybe I can locate a photo and add that here later. Her Mom was honored
by the Tri-County Fair recently also and I have a quilt photo in my archive. ...
if I get more time -- 6/9/2010
I
just wanted to send a note to say thank you for all of the time and
effort that you invested to make the class reunion such a success! It
was so good to see each of you and have the opportunity to visit!
I did not complete the evaluation that night but did bring it home with me. The only opportunity was that there was just not enough time to see and visit with everyone! The timing of the reunion was fine. We just need to know dates well in advance. If there isnt a schedule conflict would will try to make it. The food was fine.
Ted, the Website coverage has been great. While I did not realize it was there until Joyce or Terri mentioned it, I will check it often now. And, I will ask Wes to get a check in the mail to you for a cd.
Could someone compile an address list for Christmas Cards? I generally do get those out!
If anyone is coming this way, do give us a call. If schedule allows we would love to see you. This is a great historic area and the Oprey should be up and going again in December I believe.
Once again, it was great to see you all and thanks so much for making it happen!
