TU "True Blue" Awards
CHS Students Honored -- Kasey Bradley & Laney Branen
Flanked by the two TU award presenters are (L-R) Jennnifer Hamlin, Laney Branen, Kasey Bradley and Tracy Pabitzky.
It’s my pleasure to inform you that two Collinsville High School students have been selected as recipients of the University of Tulsa’s “True Blue Spotted You!” service award. Jennifer Hamlin nominated Laney Branen for a mentor program she started to teach elementary students the importance of agriculture and its history in the community. Tracy Pabitzky nominated Kasey Bradley for her “High Five Dress Sale” project which addressed the need for affordable formal wear among students, with proceeds going to Gold 4 Kids Cancer Foundation of Tulsa.

As the office of community and civic engagement on campus, True Blue Neighbors has long recognized outstanding service among TU students, staff, and faculty. Through the “True Blue Spotted You!” program, we are pleased to now expand our recognition to outstanding middle and high school students in our surrounding communities.

We would be honored to present Laney and Tracy with their awards sometime before the end of the semester. Whether this is a spontaneous 5 min in-class presentation, or part of any broader award program you might have scheduled – we’re happy to do whatever is most convenient for you. Attending the award presentation would be myself, one of our TU students, and likely someone from our communications department to capture pictures for social media.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing from you. Congratulations on having two Collinsville students selected for this award!

Neither Kasey or Laney knew of these awards before they were surprised at school for the award presentations May 7th.

Laney Branen had gotten very little sleep the night before and had even brought her expantant sheep to school with her that morning as she was expecting a sheep birth at any time in a pen set up behind the FFA building.
