The Home Representative
Club of Collinsville met for their March meeting at the Collinsville
Library on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 1:00pm. The theme of this months
meeting was A Happy Hatter Tea Party and was hosted
by Carolyn Brinkley and Rusti Howard. Guests were encouraged to
dress casual and wear a fun hat, a classy hat, a simple hat or a
crazy hat.
The meeting
began with the Club Collect and the Pledge of Allegiance. HRC was
excited to welcome four guests to this amusing meeting.
The club discussed
many of the projects that they sponsor including the following:

The annual
CHS Mother Daughter Senior Tea which will be held on Tuesday,
May 8, 2018 at 3:00pm at the Faith Fellowship Church in Collinsville.
All 2018 graduating CHS senior girls are invited to attend and
bring one adult female guest and will need to rsvp to the tea
by following the
guidelines on
the invitation. Also discussed was the Scholarship to a graduating
senior. Any 2018 graduating CHS senior can apply for this scholarship.
Please see your Senior Guidance Counselor for an application.
The guest
speaker at this meeting was Michella Wilson, the 2018 Miss Green
Country. The club thoroughly enjoyed Miss Wilsons speech
as she spoke about perseverance and determination. The club will
be rooting for Michella as she competes in the 2018 Miss Oklahoma
Pageant in June. HRC member, Stacey Stevens, serves as the Miss
Green Country mentor.
When our guest
speaker finished, the club enjoyed taking turns reading interesting
tidbits about tea, announcing the history of the hats they each
wore (several hats were over 50 years old) and partaking of dessert
trays filled with cupcakes, tea cookies and sandwiches and a variety
of hot or cold tea.
In conclusion
of our meeting, a prize was given and it is with great excitement
to announce that Louise Brazeal won the door prize. Congratulations
Louise!
