October 11 2016 Veterans Day Plans |
70 1/2 Years Ago -- March 7, 1946 " The Collinsville News" -- Commander Kay Bayouth reports that erection of the Veterans Building in Collinsville will be started just as soon as material is obtainable, and this is expected to be possible soon. The Veterans propose to build the building large enough to play basketball in. They have purchased enough ground to make it possible to build a softball field for summer use. This they expect to light so that it may be used for night games. |
The City of Collinsville
would like to invite everyone to take part in the our official Veterans

is no cost to be a part of the parade. After the parade the City will host a luncheon for all Veterans at the Veterans Memorial Building at 903 W. Main. We will then have the Re-dedication of the building the unveiling of the new bronze statues at 2:00 with a public reception / Open House immediately following. We hope you will all join us as we honor the men and women who have served this great nation.
